Hey momma! We are the Andersen’s and this is for you!

Dear Momma,

There are no words that can be put in this letter that can explain how we feel or what you might be feeling right now as well. So I’ll make this short and sweet because the real relationship isn’t between letters and notes. Building a relationship is hugs, phone calls, just hearing each others voice, pictures and knowing with trust that you are both in it.

We want to get to know you, all of you and we want you to get to know all of us. So here is a small clip of who we are and we can’t wait to get to know you!

We are the Andersens! My name is Julie, my hubby is Tyler and our three crazy and loving boys are Braxton, Luke and Ammon. We are a fun-loving bunch who like to travel, play, spend time with family, and just have fun. We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are very active and feel very strong about our beliefs.

Tyler is a Software Developer and has a very successful career. Tyler is a man of many trades. He has been an EMT, a Fire Fighter, an entrepreneur, starting his own company when he was only 16, and has built three houses. He went to college for his bachelors degree all while doing full time work and being full time husband, dad, and foster-dad. There is nothing he can’t do! I feel so proud to call him ours. He is the best dad we could ever ask for and treats me like everything a Dad would hope to have for his daughter.

As for me, I’m living my dream to be a stay at home mom. Being a mom has been my dream ever since I was a little girl. I was the neighborhood babysitter and helped raise my nieces and nephews and loved every second of it. I love music, photography, sewing, swimming, and family dance parties! I love our life and wouldn’t have it any other way!

Braxton is 11 and loves getting older. He has no fear for adventure and loves trying new things. He has a need for speed and loves to go fast on anything – rides, bikes, scooters, boats, 4-wheelers and snowmobiles. He is a momma’s boy, loves to be by my side, and is a great cuddler. Braxton has a love for school, is amazing at math, and is incredible with all rubik’s cubes . He has a very contagious laugh and loves to just play.

Luke is 9 and absolutely loves school! Luke is a character and can make anyone laugh. This little boy is his Daddy’s shadow and copies everything Tyler does. Luke loves all crafts, tools, construction, electronics and taking things apart to see how they work. Luke also loves to get down and dirty in the mud outside so he loves the summer when he can spend all day out there. He is also an inventor and comes up with the coolest and craziest things! Luke’s new thing has been finding the sweetest names for me. I hear almost daily “mom you are ‘beautagious’” and “I love you my cutie sweetie pie”.

Ammon just turned 5 and brings sooo much joy into our home! He keeps us on our toes and has the best imagination! He loves to share his toys with our chickens and is a great babysitter for our current chicks. Ammon has a dream laugh and is a heart melter! He is my little sidekick when I run errands and never complains. But he sure seems to convince me to buy treats every time we go out and maybe thats why he doesn’t complain, haha! We love our Ammon and the peace he brings into our home.

Our story is long but here are some main points!

Tyler and I met on a blind date in 2011 and our story became history after that. We have the true love that never ends and we couldn’t be happier! Tyler and I married in 2012 and wanted to start our family right away. We went through some pretty rough infertility and had a miscarriage very early on. We’ve always known we wanted to adopt we just didn’t know the timeline when that would happen. It became evident that it was going to be sooner than later.

We bought our first house in early 2014 and started foster care in the fall. Braxton and Luke were our first placement and we became our own little family. Our boys story is unique and not for public display but we are so proud of our boys and who they are and who they will become. They are incredible and have such an amazing future ahead of them. We can’t express how much we love our boys and tell them everyday. We are also very blessed to have an amazing relationship with their biological mom. We understand this is not the norm but we wouldn’t have it any other way. The love I have for her is so deep and pray we are always close.

Ammon is our little caboose and we just finalized his adoption. Again his story is not for public display but would definitely share with you. We have known Ammon since birth and he just turned 5, so there is a lot of story to go along with his adoption. We are so grateful for his biological family and the connections we have with them and wouldn’t have it any other way. Ammon is our little pride and joy and the bond he has with his older brothers is absolutely perfect!

We have continued to be a foster family and our boys love it. Though it has been tough on them as they have expressed its hard that kids come and go and never stay. They understand the goal of foster care (reunification) and they get it but it doesn’t make it easier on their little hearts. So we decided to pursue private adoption in hopes that our family can grow. Our boys pray constantly for a little sibling that stays forever!

But heres to you momma! You have all the feels going through you right now. Soak it in, listen to your heart and you’ll know what to do. Making the choice of adoption is not a light one. Don’t be afraid to parent and don’t be afraid to place. Take time to yourself and don’t rush. Remember that no one can make you do anything and you have the power to choose for yourself. You’ve got this!

With all our love,

Tyler, Julie, Braxton, Luke and Ammon
